12/09/01 (sequence)

Dawn sore morning sky,
telephone wire's flick from flatline-
lost world back to life.

Wind slaps; then puddles
resettle to diesel bruises,
and whole chunks of sky.

Books of condolence.
At the church door's gaping mouth,
thrown up confetti.
